![]() ![]() I dont understand that either, ask GM wth?Īlso Pace Performance and Scoggin and Dickey also list replacement engines for TBI trucks as engines with roller cams. I think part of the problem is also the bigger trucks like the 1 ton did not have roller cams. I do know that of the 3 manuals I have show roller cams, and the remanufacture engine suppliers all show roller cam and flat tappet engines for this year. I dont know how consistant GM was with installing roller cams in 1988-1994 1/2 ton trucks. ![]() and I thought all 454 engines for 1995 were roller cams. Its really a Gen VI with a fuel pump boss but it did not come with a roller. ![]() I have seen truck engines come both ways.Ī case of that was my Gen V crate 454 that looks like a Gen VI but the block is marked from GM "Mark V" it did not come with a roller cam from the factory. I guess GM had thier head stuck up thier backside not much has changed because they still do. I have seen late 80's 305 engines from camaros that did not have roller cams. The second engine I bought came from a 1993 4x4 and was also an original equipment V6 with factory hydraulic roller cam. And yes it was the original engine that the truck was born with My original engine in the 1992 silverado shortbed regular cab truck had a hydraulic roller cam. I dont agree with this on the V6 engines. ![]()
